Dark old streets and mucho things going.

Dig my stick, man, I'm made whole, I feel great.

Look into my big brown eyes and tell me I don't belong, and

Between my fingers, I'll break your dick string and become a man, 


	superman, that is.


I'm gonna fling my elbows straight up and down, 

I'm gonna walk tippytoes like I ain't got no wants, 

I'm gonna stay half high always, so I can change my mind either way. 

And I'm gonna make all the mañanas bend to my way of 


	thinking.


I got all the reasons for being--

I'm no nothing that's gotta disappear--

I'm not just another square on a sidewalk street--

I'm not just another light bulb that'll soon go out.


I'm a voice who digs his scene, who makes his way.

I can shed tears with the best of them and smile also, like a


	champ.

I can flex all my muscles, baby, and can crack ten knuckles at a clip.

I can pick my nose and pare my toe nails with fingers so strong.

I can scratch my back to the thirteenth bone of my spine,

I can yawn like crazy, mundo, and I can swell with pride and


	lust.

I can hang my head with shame and like the sun, shine with


	dignity.

I can rub my balls and chase off some crummy fly.

I can pucker in disgust at a tenement's lousy rats

And with coolness supreme, crush a muy grande road.


I can drink sweet water or down a pint of wine.

I can inhale a morning air or a night that's truly mine.

I can laugh at a muchacha's joke or crush her loud lips down.

I can hear a cool old rumba or dig a crazy clown.

I can hate with the best of them or make love to the worst.

I can hold hands with anyone who a friend wants to be,

Or spit in puro chiste in anybody's teeth.

I'm not just a lonely cat, for company I've got,

Just look anywhere around you or think of anyone you've


	forgotten--

AND DIG ALL THEM PLACES THE SUN COULDN'T LIGHT UP.
