The Eyes Of My Heart

What is the fermenting passion that spreads out,
Like ink on linen laundered just but once
And becomes as close as the hairs on your body?
What is the seeming sense that keeps beating a sad-assed message of futility?
And you're able to walk and smile,
And help and love and give warmth and beauty,
And even wipe away the tears that are not from the eyes,
but from the soul.

And you ask yourself, "Hola, Piri,
Is this a burden you have?"
Piri answers, "Nunca, it is the blessing of beauty,

of creativeness, I Puertorriqueño."

One of the most beautiful things that I experience
Is when I awake every morning, I stand agog--
It's a pretty world, rain, shine, winter, fog.
It's a pretty world. All it needs is that we,
Pretty world, be as pretty as thee.

* (Although these audio files have been heavily compressed, they are still large and will load slowly, even if you have a relatively fast 28.8 modem connection. With an average 2.5k/sec. download rate, a 300k sound file may take up to 2 minutes to load, a 1,200k file anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes.

However, your patience will be rewarded. Piri's intense readings are a true joy to listen to, and give the written word much depth and "flow.")
